Program Overview

The work you do and your capacity to “earn a living” can be a gift to the planet and an amazing blessing to you and those you love. Likewise, dealing with unemployment, underemployment or unsatisfying work can be a challenge that touches virtually every aspect of your life.

Help Wanted: Making the Most of Your Job Search is designed to move individuals out of a “victim” mentality and into the role of empowered co-creator by introducing specific tools and strategies that get results and will help to maximize and optimize any job search effort. Listeners will have an opportunity to explore the practical aspects of looking for work, including résumés, cover letters, searching online and prepping for interviews. We will also explore our role as co-creator of our reality and the importance of cultivating a powerful consciousness of service and value to help us put our best foot forward every step of the way.

Coaching and guidance for specific questions and concerns will be provided along with weekly takeaways and affirmations. Looking for work is work, but it can also be extremely rewarding—and it doesn’t have to be difficult.

Judy Pilat
Judy Pilat currently serves as the interim operations manager for Unity of Kalamazoo while they conduct their search for a new minister and also serves as the director of engagement and alignment.

In her work at the church, her mission is “to connect people in ways that reward, satisfy and empower, and to offer experiences that expand choices and enrich lives.”

She is a career coach, life strategist and workshop facilitator with a passion for helping individuals identify their gifts and abilities so they can use them in ways that delight and reward. She has completed the Spiritual Education and Enrichment program of study at Unity Village and has applied for admission to the ministerial path.

Judy has extensive sales, marketing and training experience with industry leaders at the top of the Fortune 500 list including General Motors, Xerox and Stryker Corporation, and has worked with hundreds of individuals from all walks of life to help them clarify their career goals, develop effective job search or business start-up plans, and successfully start new jobs or careers.

In 1996 she joined Right Management, the world’s leading provider of career transition and talent management solutions. At Right Management, she served as a workshop facilitator, career center manager, vice president of career management consulting, and vice president of client services, managing a number of major relationships including Kellogg, Whirlpool and Pfizer. Most recently she served as a lead consultant for the home-based channel of service delivery, providing one-on-one coaching and consulting for professional and executive-level career transition candidates throughout the Great Lakes Region.
